San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center (SDCOC) celebrates twenty years by helping small businesses win $58,335,797 in contract awards during Fiscal Year 2014. This equates to nearly 388 jobs, assuming that $150,000 in sales is needed for each job reported. During this period, SDCOC provided 1,561 initial and follow-up counseling sessions to 596 clients, totaling 1,657 hours; 303 of these clients were new clients of the Center. Additionally, SDCOC sponsored and/or participated in 82 workshops and outreach events, reaching 5,715 participants.
“The outcomes we achieve every year are a direct result of the support our sponsors provide our program. It is an honor to work with partners that share our passion for helping small businesses. We really could not do it without them.”, explains Rachel Fischer, Director.
Since 1994, SDCOC clients have attributed more than $775 million in government contract awards to the technical assistance provided by the SDCOC. Over 5100 jobs have been created or retained as a result of these awards.
San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center (SDCOC) is an economic development program of Southwestern College, with a mission to assist San Diego small businesses in how to do business with federal, state and local government agencies.
